EXODUS Paris show soundtrack 2010

Blaak exodus 2010  by  BLAAK

click on play to listen to the soundtrack of Paris show.

words in the soundtrack are taken from  Derek Jarman's 'Jubilee', 'the last of England',
and George Lucas's first film 'THX 1138'.
Music is an important element in creating an atmosphere or putting message across.
but words, words are so strong and precise.

in this soundtrack, the words were selected not to make sense in a way of storytelling.
but more as facts. Good or bad, right or wrong, those words were chosen for how
true they reflected this world. ( or this world thats almost passing )

meteoric rise?!

Show review on thisheartsonfire.com

'Another menswear line we’ve had our eye on — Blaak Homme — seems to be making a bit of a meteoric rise at the moment and given what we saw this past week at Paris Fashion Week, it should come as no surprise.
For F/W 10, designers Sachiko Okada and Aaron Sharif see only in black and white. While other designers we’re into aren’t seeing in black and white, per se, there are numerous collections that have shown in the past few years who severely limit their palettes (generally to two colors) when designing their collections, which helps in giving lines an overall sense of continuity that’s much more difficult to achieve otherwise. Black will always be the de facto color for the serious fashion designer, but lately white has taken back seat to beige and taupe, the minimalist, not-so-stark and muted cousins to black’s former partner.
Check out the images below for a taste of what’s up for Blaak Homme for F/W10. We think you’ll like it.'

Blaak Иисус Христос – Super Star

article from russian.fashionreporters.com by Lidia Bardina
'Очень тёмная коллекция с единственной светлой моделью, олицетворяющей Иисуса. Кем бы стал Христос сегодня? Возможно, случайным прохожим… Какова современная религия?  Скорее всего, телевиденье и интернет – символы мировой глобализации......'

Show review by Evgeniya Ilinskaya on Luuk magazine

"Every collection of this British brand bears an individual character. So was the case this time.
Glancing into the past, Sachido Okada and Aaron Sharif presented a new approach to the clothes. The show at the “Maison des Metallos” with a religious background and music by Jesus Oskar Vizan didn’t leave anyone indifferent.
Cross-shaped accessories, white loose shirts, shortened trousers and shorts create an image of a strong-willed and free person. A stunning appearance of a model with a wreath of thorns on his head. Here he is - the new, free and brave man, who is not a creation of God, he is God.
Blaak still remain loyal to its grim aesthetics: black, gray and white colors dominate. But this time the collection is diluted yellow-blue-red squares, which proved to be a very original approach.
Light negligence and rather "ragged" style contributed into the collection: sheepskin jackets tailored in a way that they look as if they were torn, and then sewed back; knitted scarves, thoroughly riddled. Shortened trousers fastened with straps on the shin, elongated shorts in squares and patch pockets create an urban style. Scarves decorated with black beads, necklaces, bags over the shoulders, backpacks have become integral accessories.
Autumn-Winter Collection 2010-2011, as though the previous collections of the house, bears something special, enigmatic and mysterious, and at the same time simple, free, and natural that finely complements the image of the modern man from Blaak. "

'Blaak Men Fall 2010: Travel, Old World Style' show review on Fashion window

Show review by Mari Davis on Fashion windows
"PARIS, Jan 25, 2010 / FW/ — Enigmatically entitled Exodus, with the cross and a crown of thorns as accessories, there was a reference to the Judeo-Christian religion that was never expounded in the Blaak Fall 2010 menswear collection.
Instead, Sachiko Okada and Aaron Sharif focus on the general meaning of exodus, which is a mass migration, and for the context of the runway show, travel.
Travel cloaks, slouchy pants and walking shorts, Blaak brought their audience back in time when life was slower, that it can take a day to trek to the next town or city because traveler has to walk or ride a horse, at times take a canoe.
Hence, there are creases and patterns that came from the effects of a long journey. And as a travel companion, Blaak introduced a new line of bags that was designed in collaboration with Headporter, a respected Japanese bag company established in 1935."

BLAAK show review and backstage images on Dazed Digital

'As head masters of the British punk aesthetics – at least on the Paris menswear schedule – Blaak took to the stage Friday morning. The London duo is famous for its dark and punky outlook but have long ago showed that, unlike the actual punk movement, it will age nicely....'

Paris show review by Hywel Davies on Showstudio.com

show review by Hywel Davies on show studio

"For autumn winter, London trained designers, Blaak sought divine inspiration. Entitled 'Exodus' the design duo presented their signature slouchy modernity with the usual confidence and ease. With models looking like Jesus and religious motifs in the form of crucifixes crowns of silver thorns, the collection had spirital expectations. Deconstructed tailoring, cut out sheep skin coats and loosely cut blouson jackets melted onto the heavenly beings. A sensitive handling of fabric and contemporary proportions ensure Blaak's clothes are instinctively cool and not overtly try hard. Perhaps too many shorts for a winter collection but a yellow plaid pair shone out from a predominantly navy and blaak collection. What Blaak do best are shirts and a series of simple white versions shone from the catwalk. Simple but divine."

Hywel's always choose nice image for his article.

HAPPY NEW YEAR, NEW DECADE, NEW AEON !!

The sun worshipers went to the top of the Hampstead heath, highest point in London, just before the day break at 8:06 01/01/2010.
The sun hesitated to come out for a while, but finally did around 8:18.
thick clouds spreading over the horizon, and another long horizontal layer made the sun look like an eye.

Wish you all the best , and positivity for the 2010.
