Paris show review by Hywel Davies on Showstudio.com

show review by Hywel Davies on show studio

"For autumn winter, London trained designers, Blaak sought divine inspiration. Entitled 'Exodus' the design duo presented their signature slouchy modernity with the usual confidence and ease. With models looking like Jesus and religious motifs in the form of crucifixes crowns of silver thorns, the collection had spirital expectations. Deconstructed tailoring, cut out sheep skin coats and loosely cut blouson jackets melted onto the heavenly beings. A sensitive handling of fabric and contemporary proportions ensure Blaak's clothes are instinctively cool and not overtly try hard. Perhaps too many shorts for a winter collection but a yellow plaid pair shone out from a predominantly navy and blaak collection. What Blaak do best are shirts and a series of simple white versions shone from the catwalk. Simple but divine."
